Golf - Men's 18-Hole
This group plays regular full rounds on Wednesdays and Fridays from the end of March through October. You can play twice a week, or just once a year — whatever you wish. Just come out and enjoy a fine walk and great company — spoiled, of course, only by the golf! An activity for both KNC members and alumni (KNA), we rotate among four local golf courses: Kelowna Springs, Sunset Ranch, Shannon Lake and Shadow Ridge.
Golf - Ladies 9-HoleThe Ladies 9-Hole Golf group plays Thursday mornings from early May to mid-October, alternating between Kelowna Springs and Michaelbrook Golf Courses. This is a relaxed, non-competitive activity. We welcome golfers of all skill levels, but some experience is required and a basic knowledge of golfing etiquette is expected. Golf - Mixed 9-Hole
The Mixed 9-Hole Golf group meets at Kelowna Springs Golf Course very early Tuesday mornings from April until the end of the golf season in October. We usually play the back-9, then reward ourselves with a scrumptious breakfast in the clubhouse. This fun, non-competitive activity for golfers of all skill levels is open to KNC members.
Gardening
We're all new to the area and face a variety of unfamiliar gardening challenges. What plants do well in this arrid climate, coupled with frosty winters? How do we deal with deer and other critters destroying our gardens? Join our Gardening Group to learn and share experiences, frustrations and triumphs!
| Dragon BoatingAre you interested in a new sport? Try dragon boating! In partnership with the Kelowna Dragon Boat Club (KDBC), membership is open to all KNC and alumni members. The season runs May through August, paddling once a week. KDBC provides the boat, life jackets & paddles to 1st year paddlers, plus a coach and steer for each team. Meet at 4:30 by the Kelowna Yacht Club, warm up then paddle for an hour on beautiful Lake Okanagan. We follow our paddle experience at a nearby pub. Fees are $100, as decided by KDBC. If you are looking for exercise and a social outing, please join us! Walking
Grab your walking shoes and join us Thursday mornings, all year round, for an easy to moderate 1hr to 1.5hr walk in one of 50 scenic locations ranging from Peachland in the southwest to Lake Country in the northeast. Each year new teams are developed to ensure a good mix of skill levels. There's plenty of socializing and laughter (mostly about bowling!). There's a lunch once a month, as well as a year-end banquet. Ladies Book ClubDo you like to discuss books with fellow reading enthusiasts?
