KNC HIKING Group!
Please consider joining us for our Friday June 24, 2022 hike to Angel Springs, including hiking down to KLO Creek.
Attendance is limited to 12 hikers.
Our approx. 3 or more hour hikes depart at 9:00 a.m. from a variety of locations - from Lake Country in the north to Peachland in the south, and sometimes farther afield. Please review each hike's details, as the level of effort will vary from hike to hike, and may increase in effort as the weeks proceed.

Angel Springs Via June Springs | Little White FSR
Angel Springs via June Springs Road | Little White FSR is a 10 kilometre 635 metre gain moderately trafficked out and back trail that features a warm springs and is rated as moderate.
The springs are small but warm to the touch with interesting orange algae. The tufa rock formations along the trail are fairly unique. Tufa is a variety of limestone formed when carbonate minerals precipitate out of ambient temperature water.
Your hike leaders will be at the June Springs Road | Little White FSR parking lot at 8:45 a.m. to meet our hikers. We will begin hiking at 9:00 am. If weather conditions are such that the decision is made to cancel the hike, we will do so by email the morning of the hike. We will, prior to leaving the parking lot, have a short discussion of hike expectations and we welcome all comments and suggestions.
Directions: (from Orchard Park Mall
- Turn onto Cooper Rd for 750 m
- Turn right onto Benvoulin Rd 1.8 km
- Turn left onto K. L. O. Rd 2.6 km
- Turn right onto McCulloch Rd 1.7 km
- Turn right to stay on McCulloch Rd 1.4 km
- Turn right onto June Springs Rd 450 m
- Continue straight to stay on June Springs Rd 5.6 km
- Continue onto Little White Forest Service Rd 1.0 km
- Gravel Parking Lot is on your right. We will hike from the parking lot at 9:00 a.m.
Hike Difficulty - Moderate: The trail, from this trailhead, is 10 kms (out and back) with 635m of elevation gain (including hiking down into the canyon to KLO Creek, and returning back up the canyon). When we arrive at Angel Springs, we will view the springs, then continue down the trail to KLO Creek, where we can stop for a snack, and return the way we came. Given the amount of precipitation in the area, the trail is likely to be slippery and wet – hiking poles and water-resistant hikers with good treads will be crucial. There may be ticks - so tucking pants into socks, and keeping a good tick spray on hand will be helpful. Don't forget to do a full tick-check when you arrive back home!
